Antique MZ Austria Porcelain Plate and Berry/Fruit Bowl – Floral c. 1884-1909 Zsinta

 

Description:  A beautiful two piece antique porcelain 8 inch plate and 5 3/8 inch fruit/berry bowl by Moritz Zdekauer (MZ Austria) from the late 1800’s.  The plate features a 9 panel pointed, scalloped edge depicting a flower outline.  Beautiful blend of soft, pastel colors in green and cream with petite lavender and white floral with gold gilt accents.  This pair works well together as a berry bowl with a matching underplate.

Markings:  MZ Austria in Green with Makers Mark on both pieces.  On saucer: incised with what appears to be 1044.

 Condition:    Previously owned – used.  Surprisingly, No chips, cracks or nicks.  Light wear and small scratches on face of plate (as shown).  It is unknown if the raised edges of panel exhibiting white lines are part of the pattern or wear.
