Antique Rustic Oval Tin Metal Lunch Pail with Lid Porcelain Knob Swing Handle Zsinta

 

Product Description:  Surprisingly during the late 1800s into early 1900s, lunch boxes similar to this one were used as lunch pails for many working men. This tin pail in oval form shows signs of early soldered seams on the inside with a riveted swing handle and a tightly fitted lid with a porcelain knob. Great early piece of tinware which displays nicely.

Condition:  Previously owned – used.  Condition is consistent with age and use. Lid fits tightly inside of pail. No signs of cracks or chips in porcelain knob although some light wear. Lid and pail both have a patinated surface with areas of rusting and scattered indentations (as shown). Soldered seams on inside of pail appear to be original although two areas of seams on inside of lid may be newer. Not being sold for food use. Only as a collectible for display purposes.
