Product Description:   Biscuit barrels where first becoming popular from mid to late 1800’s until around 1930’s.  This handsome barrel with an oak exterior and its original, white porcelain insert exhibits a sophistication appearance for a den, man’s cave or smoking room.  It features a horizontal inlaid band encircling the center body with an EPNS (Electro-plated nickel sliver) lid with a silver-plated swing arm handle and ring. The shield-plaque awaits your monogram! 

Note:  Porcelain insert is not easily removable without removing the screwed on ring.

Additional uses:  Humidor storage jar.  Although not lined in Spanish Cedar, some use this type of jar to store cigars or tobacco.

Previously owned – used.  No cracks in porcelain insert.  Two small sections within the inlaid band is missing (as shown). 1 thin split in wood and other three are sections of staved wood, not splits.  Moderate surface patina on lid, ring and handle.
